Why is it hard to understand what a business strategist does?

In short. Because it is connecting work: it holds together the owners, the departments, the suppliers and the tools, and when it works it stays almost invisible. That is why my role gets confused with others, and why most of my clients come to me because another business owner explained what I do.

A keystone

In an arch, the keystone is the stone that holds the others in place, and as long as it is there nobody notices it. My work is similar. I connect the people who decide with the people who carry out the work, the company with its suppliers, the strategy with the daily work. When it is missing, you feel it.

Why I write about it

I realized that my work is unusual and loosely defined, in Italy as elsewhere. So I started describing it: in the articles on this site, in my videos and in Altrove, my newsletter and podcast, in Italian.
