What stays fixed
The direction and the criteria for choosing, decided with the owners, stay fixed. Short-term priorities change, as does the order of the steps and sometimes the people involved. Changing the path without losing the direction is the work of the weekly meetings. Why effective strategies also take shape along the way is explained in Can I hand you the strategy and get a finished plan? The same holds for projects: rigidity in the face of change is one of the most common project manager mistakes.
